Honeymoon Island State Park

Honeymoon Island State Park is one of Tampa’s most beautiful beach and state park. It has over 4 miles of beautiful white sand beaches, stunning sunsets and is a paradise for bird-watchers.

Honeymoon Island State Park is an amazing 4 mile beach and 3 mile trail located in Dunedin just a short drive from Tampa. It is open from 8 am until sundown everyday of the year. The cost is 8$ per vehicle.

Activities include:

  • Swimming: enjoy multiple designated swimming areas on the main beach or the pet beach
  • Fishing
  • Shelling: the North end of the island has a great shelling area which turns into a sand pit
  • Kayaking: Bring your own or rent on to explore Pelican Cove which lies between the nature trail and the sand pit.
  • Hiking: Hike along Osprey Trail which provides 2.5 miles of walking
  • Bicycling: bring your own bicycles or rent them at Wheel Fun Rentals
  • Wildlife Viewing: at Honeymoon Island you can view many species of birds including roseate spoonbills, snowy egrets and great blue herons. There are also many gopher tortoise and armadillos along the nature trail.
