The Florida Aquarium is located on the waterfront downtown Tampa and has more than 8,000 animals from Florida and beyond.

The Florida Aquarium features more than 8,000 animals in a 200,000 su. ft. space. Some of the animals include river otters, alligators, sea turtles, stingrays, seahorses, bat fishes, reef fish, eels, and sharks!
It is divided into several areas:
- The Wetlands Trails that has a mangrove forest and a large aviary with free flying birds
- Journey to Madagascar has specific animals to that island such as lemurs and cockroaches
- A South African Penguin habitat
- 3 touch pools where you can touch stingrays, moon jellies and animals with no bones
- A 500,000 gallon Coral Reef habitat
- an Outdoor Plaza which features a Splash Pad
- A 4-D Theater

The Florida Aquarium is non-for-profit and is dedicated to educating visitors on marine life conservation.
It is located on Channelside Drive downtown Tampa. It’s open daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
